Saeed Ali, the e-CAB Administrator
After a dramatic resignation late at night, an administrator has been appointed for E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB). Muhammad Saeed Ali, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry's Central Digital Commerce Cell, has been appointed as the e-CAB administrator in an office order issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday.
He is appointed subject to the approval of the Government as per Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022. The appointed administrator has been asked to inform the ministry within 120 days after handing over the responsibility to the selected committee through a fair and impartial election.
e-CAB is a registered trade organization licensed by the Ministry of Commerce, the office order said. Recently, 11 people including President, Senior Vice President (Acting President), Vice President and Director resigned from the Board of Directors of e-CAB for the period of 2022-2024. They sent their resignation letters to the Director General of Trade Organizations of the Ministry of Commerce and requested to take necessary actions.
The order states that there is no opportunity to give notice to the e-CAB Board of Directors for the period of 2022-2024 as all have resigned, the order said that there is currently no Board of Directors for the period of 2022-2024 in e-CAB, so in order to maintain the continuity of all activities of the organization, Trade Organizations Act, 2022 , Trade Organizations Rules, 1994, must be governed by the Articles of Association and Articles of Association.
